So many Christians are sidelined by the idea that they don’t have enough faith because when praying for others or themselves about sickness or provisions, nothing happens. So the thought that immediately comes is, “I must not have enough faith or I have too little faith; so, I must need more faith.” And now their focus becomes an all-out effort to find or somehow obtain more faith and thereby doing so, the sick remain unhealed and the provisions needed are never realized.
All the while the words of the Apostle Paul lie dormant waiting to be resurrected in the heart of the believer. What did he say, you ask? Well, the Apostle Paul said he lived by the faith of the Son of God (not faith in) (Gal 2: 20). Please don’t take me wrong, I don’t believe there is anything wrong in saying we put our faith in the Son of God but Paul was saying very clearly that he was living by the faith OF Jesus. (also look at Gal. 2:16). That’s powerfully good news because we know there is nothing wrong with Jesus’ faith! And our faith is a gift from God (Eph. 2:8) and we absolutely know God does not give bad gifts. (James 1:17)
So, if it is not a gift problem or a faith problem, what is it? It’s a good problem that’s not so good. The problem is that we don’t understand just how good we have it or just how good He really is. I wish I could express this better (but I just honestly don’t know how), but this one revelation of just how good… really, really good…we’ve got it…that by acknowledging or having a full-knowledge of every good thing that is already in us, right now, our faith begins to transmit or to release upon the understanding of the good things in us because we are in Jesus Christ. Therefore we have it now! It’s in us! We are not asking God to heal us, we are not asking God to meet our needs, we have it now. Those things are transmitted or released from within our born again spirit and manifested in the natural because His grace has already provided them! Faith is what is used to revive them, or better yet, Faith appropriates what Grace has provided.
Paul said to us in (Phm. 1:6),
“that the communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus”
Phm 1:6 The LITV Bible says it this way, “so that the fellowship of your faith may operate in a full knowledge of every good thing in you for Jesus Christ”.
The word “communication” means the release, transferal, or transmission of our faith begins to work when we acknowledge all of the good things that are in us because we are in Christ Jesus. Now, I know some may be saying “but I’m like Paul when he said in the book of Romans, there is no good thing in me.” But that is not what Paul said, in Romans. Look at what he did say in Romans 7:18: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. He qualified that statement by saying “in my Flesh.” He was talking about his flesh.
In other words, apart from Christ there was no good thing. But we are not apart from Christ or without Him because, He is in us.
Asking God for more faith or bigger faith is not the answer. N0! What we need is to renew or minds and acknowledge that every good thing, or as James says “every good and perfect gift, has come down from the Father of lights” and it is already in us on account of Jesus.
Simply put, every good thing, (Healing, Provisions, Joy, Deliverance from Addictions & Depression,) is already in us as a gift from God, it’s in you because it is In Him!
And we, beloved, are In Him.
